Testimonials...

We have 20 appreciated testimonials to share with you.

As an annual volunteer at the PGX, I am pleased to say the fair has been a mainstay of Prince George for almost a century. I have enjoyed the horticultural, quilting, needlework & home arts displays…livestock and entertainment…it is nice to see a return of the logger show and the addition of Heritage Lane. Welcome back “Home of the Silver Stetson”! The entertainment is fabulous…the new midway is fantastic.. Forty-four years ago my children enjoyed the annual “fall fair”, and now I can relive those wonderful memories in the faces of my fair-going grandchildren. Thank you PGX. You are an integral part of Prince George history and a source of community pride for current and future generations…!

Karen Snodgrass,
Prince George

….My favorite thing about the PGX are the people who run it and the dedication they show to providing the community…offering a true picture of where our food comes from, the joy in remembering the history of our community and the importance of celebrating one’s accomplishments in the areas of agriculture. As a parent I have appreciated the opportunities my children have had to show case some of their talents in the home arts division and the new midway is so refreshing with a better selection of rides providing that “air of excitement” that we all remember! Thank you PGX for all you do for our community!

Heidi Martell,
Prince George

The PGX has really improved in the last few years thanks to the leadership of Terri McConnachie, whose enthusiasm for the Exhibition and Prince George is contagious. McConnachie has made many intelligent decisions, such as moving an entertainment stage into the food court and working to bring in the best midway rides, rodeo stars and logger sports. As the PGX nears its 100th birthday it’s just getting better than ever. See you at the X!

Randal Heidt,
Prince George

As a regular visitor of the PGX for several years I have noticed an increase in the popularity of the fair. There have been more rides recently to attract more patrons and I have heard wonderful things about the upgraded security measures. I would like to see more vendors and the continuation of the improvements I have seen the past years. Can't wait to attend this up-coming exhibition!

Sean Greco,
Prince George

On behalf of the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum, I would like to thank you for allowing the Museum to once again participate in the annual Prince George Exhibition (PGX). Participating in the PGX has allowed the Museum to gain much needed exposure in the community and raise funds for our nonprofit facility with the operation of our mini-rail train. The PGX has always been very well operated and is a summer highlight for many residents of the City of Prince George and surrounding areas!

Ranjit Gill [General Manager], Railway and Forestry Museum
Prince George

My friends and I look forward to going to the PGX! It is a great place to meet friends and with a new midway the lines are still long (cause there are more kids and teens going now) but at least now it is worth the wait!

Tyler Moe,
Prince George

Over the past couple of years we are so happy to see the PGX back to what it used to be. Fun for all!!

Larry & Brenda Davis,
Prince George

I have many fond memories, throughout my childhood, of going to the PGX. The annual exhibition is the catalyst to bringing our community together to celebrate our roots and appreciate the hard work and contribution of our rural communities, and it is so much more! The PGX is the place that brings the generations together, the young and the young at heart, where you will run into family, friends and neighbours – it is a celebration of community and how important is that in these challenging times? A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated board of directors and the many volunteers – know that you are appreciated.

The Rogers Family,
Prince George

We have been a proud supporter of the PGX for many years. The annual event is an important component of our public education and outreach program, and allows us the opportunity to share information about the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George with residents and visitors. It is always well attended and well organized and we look forward to continued participation in the years to come.

Reneé McCloskey, APR [Manager of External Relations],
Regional District of Fraser Fort George

Community Policing has had a display booth with the PGX for the last four years. It’s an effective way for us to reach the community, facilitating awareness of our many valuable programs and services available to the citizens of Prince George.

Linda Parker [Community Policing Coordinator],
Prince George

…I whole heartedly express my gratitude for such a fabulous asset to the community of Prince George. The PGX not only brings visitors and vendors from out of the area but it is also a great place for local people of the community and the vendors to come together during a fabulous exhibition. I have been fortunate enough to of had a booth at the PGX for the past two years and I hope to continue… I and my family enjoy the PGX tremendously. It is also great fun to watch the Bull o Rama and the logging. I particularly enjoy the firemen challenge! It is also important…how the PGX helps young people of the community and surrounding areas. It’s great to see young kids and teenagers taking care of their animals and having an involvement in the 4-H…the youth of today have something more substantial to put their energy into.

Kirsty Budgen [Owner], The Big Issue
Prince George

…the PGX generously supports other non-profit local organizations like Prince George Minor Football. The PGX has grown over the past few years and last year was special to me because of the high caliber bull riding event. I would like to see these traditional
agricultural based events continue as it reminds me of my childhood. I
really appreciate the cleanliness of the venue, the friendliness and
helpfulness of the PGX staff and overall…the PGX is managed in a
professional manner. Woo... to PGX 2010.

Sherri Tillotson [Volunteer Coordinator], PGMFA
Prince George

The PGX is part of my childhood and is still the place to gather with family and friends….thank you PGX, for the opportunity to give these same fond memories of fun, family and sense of community, with my own family…what a wonderful gift. See you at the next PGX, we wouldn’t miss it!

The Nolli Family,
Prince George

The PGX is clearly the top middle market fair in Western Canada for a lot of reasons, most
notably it is extremely well managed. The fair management has achieved a great supporting
cast who have great working relationships creating amazing continuity and organization. Truly
a team group! As far as the fair goes it really is a mini P.N.E. from rodeo, to
big stage, small stage, agriculture, street performers, its all there. This fair is a class act no
matter how you look at.

Cris Schandl,
Vancouver, BC

In Praise of the PGX!
…the fair was a great event again this year.
Organizers should be proud of themselves.
It is no easy task….remember, it is done by volunteers.
Congrats to the organizers of the PGX for another great show.

Kudos to the PGX Crew
“Those of you who missed the 97th Prince George Exhibition missed out on a lot of fun. Like many in the community, I have watched as the PGX seemed to decline as the years passed. Not anymore.
This was the best one I have ever attended: something for everyone, truly a community event.”
“The city owes a big thank you to the management, the many volunteers and the board of directors for giving us a first class event.
I’m really looking forward to next year.”

Victor Bowman, Prince George Free Press

An exhibition is always a family affair, and brings to mind a midway, crafts and, of course, lots of good food. I especially enjoyed Discovery Place which showcased merchandise and services that are locally made and available. Please pass on our congratulations to your committee for a job well done on yet another exhibition to remember!

Stephanie Killam [Mayor],
Mackenzie, BC

We want to thank you very much for contributing to the WITT program.
Without your effort to respond in a timely and effective way, your flexibility and professionalism, we would not be where we are today in the first pilot Women in Trades Training in Prince George.
